Summing Up 2024’s Top Marketing Podcasts for Brandformance Wins

2024 Marketing Podcast Review_

I love podcasts! For both entertainment and learning. A great interview with a top expert can reshape how I think about marketing and energize me to apply new insights to my strategies.

Not every marketing podcast I listened to in 2024 resonated. Whether it clicked depended on the challenges I faced, the marketing pains I was dealing with, and how assertive the interview was. Yet, I always walked away with something valuable: an insight, a fresh perspective, or a new idea to explore.

Inspired, I decided to create my own list of marketing podcasts that align with the brandformance strategy approach. Some focus on building brand awareness, while others explore performance-driven strategies. Here are my top four podcast recommendations from 2024, each with three standout episodes.

Everyone hates marketers

Everyone Hates Marketing Podcast Website

This is, without a doubt, my favorite marketing podcast. Louis Grenier, with his distinctive French accent, interviews specialized professionals across diverse marketing niches, makes them enjoyable, and brings authenticity to each episode. He not only asks incisive questions but also shares his perspective, giving listeners plenty to chew on. And don’t be mistaken; it’s not overly theoretical. The podcast’s strength lies in its practical, actionable advice that you can implement right away.

Social media marketing podcast

A standout resource in the digital marketing space. Michael Stelzner interviewed guests who aren’t just discussing current trends; they’re shaping them, offering fresh perspectives on how users interact with social platforms in increasingly sophisticated ways. Stelzner leads conversations into unexpectedly insightful territory, using a masterful interviewing style that brings out the best in his guests by creating space for them to showcase their expertise. He encourages guests to weave in personal experiences and real-world case studies, making even the most complex social media concepts digestible and relatable. Backed by the prestigious Social Media Examiner blog, which has invested considerable resources into developing cutting-edge marketing insights, the podcast reflects this same commitment to quality and depth, but what truly sets it apart is its ability to keep listeners at the forefront of social media marketing’s rapid evolution.

B2B Marketing with Dave Gerhardt (An Exit Five Podcast)

The B2B Marketing podcast (previously known as Exit Five Podcast), hosted by Dave Gerhardt, is a refreshingly grounded take on modern marketing. After discovering Gerhardt through an interview two years ago, I was immediately drawn to his distinctive marketing philosophy. His deep understanding stems from a simple truth: we’re all overwhelmed with information. Our mental bandwidth is primarily reserved for what truly matters to us, whether that’s personal interests, family, or professional growth. This insight shines through in the podcast’s thoughtfully organized content structure, with episodes neatly categorized into Drive, Career, Strategy, Marketing Leadership, and Paid Spend, making it easy to find relevant content wherever you are in your marketing journey, whether you’re exploring new strategies or fine-tuning your leadership skills, always delivering actionable insights.

Masters of scale

While not strictly a marketing podcast, Masters of Scale is an invaluable source of big-picture thinking that every marketer should have in their playlist. Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, brings a unique depth to each episode as he interviews groundbreaking entrepreneurs and business leaders who have transformed their industries. What makes this show particularly compelling is how Hoffman guides conversations beyond typical business discussions, drawing out insights that listeners can adapt to their own domains. While you won’t find specific marketing tactics or trend analysis here, you’ll discover something arguably more valuable: inspiration for thinking broadly about business impact and growth. The show’s real strength lies in its ability to help marketers step outside their specialized perspectives and see how their work fits into larger business transformations.
